KEY REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES
- 5 years? plus experience manual Pattern making.
- Study and interpret drawings, written instructions or samples of clothing designs.
- Specify sewing instructions for manufacturing purpose.
- Make sample garments and be involved in fitting of the patterns, adapt patterns for various sizes.
- Excellent knowledge of pattern making, sowing codes and symbols.
- Knowledge of different sewing equipment and methods
- Knowledge of different fabrics and their applications.
- Drawing skills and the ability to interpret drawings.
- Math skills, particularly making calculations.
- Knowledge of garment measurements and specifications.
- High accuracy levels
- Attention to detail
Desired Qualification Accreditation
- Pattern Making and Garment Technologist Diploma.
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Computer skills, including cad software is advantageous
