Introduction

Our client in the Higher Education and Training is seeking a Alumni and Stakeholders Manager to join their Grahamstown institution

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identifies, implements, and monitors a variety of innovative programmes and approaches which lead to the development of relationships with high net worth alumni who have the potential to become significant supporters of the University?s projects and external funding needs
  • Develops, introduces, and monitors fundraising plans and programmes aimed specifically at Alumni giving and involvement in a variety of ways. These programmes include the Annual Fund, bequests, mentorship, internships, referrals, skills transfer etc., projects and activities will includes events such as reunions and dinners as a way of engaging with alumni and other stakeholders
  • Promoting the importance of Alumni relations in the Institution to both staff and students
  • Identifying (and developing solution to resolve) structural, procedural, interpersonal and individual barriers that undermine the provision of effective marketing and branding solutions
  • Motivating for appropriate resourcing through the Director (staff, budget, facilities, equipment, etc.) and ensuring efficient and effective use of resources
  • Organising of the activities and services in terms of resourcing provided by the Institution
  • Ensuring the provision of a quality service, including the measurement and evaluation of such services

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements:

A relevant B Degree PLUS approximately 7 years relevant experience where such experience includes:

  • Previous experience in a fundraising or in any position where the development of relationships is seen as core to the success of the position
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of success with regard to the above as well as where initiative has been taken to enhance or build key relationships
  • Demonstrable success in running projects which are aimed at achieving support for philanthropic programmes
  • At least 3 years management experience
  • Previous experience working with senior management in an organisation, where strategic input has been required
