Reporting directly to the GM, provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the company, these include but are not limited to: growth, new markets, evaluation of pricing structures and new deals. Solid costing experience from a manufacturing background essential. Multi-national experience essential as the Group has entities in various countries.

Key Result Areas:

  • Managing finance team in terms of monthly and annual requirements ensuring that reporting deadlines are adhered to
  • Review of monthly finance journals and reconciliations
  • Overall responsibility for financial reporting on a monthly basis
  • Annual company budget submission, finalisation and submission to MD
  • Review of weekly and monthly payments and release thereof
  • Insurance renewal and tender process
  • Insurance claim administration
  • Cash flow analysis and presentation to Exco and Board
  • Financial year end audit
  • Overall responsibility for annual financial statements & disclosure
  • ERP Administration
  • Drafting /review and finalisation of legal contracts for signature by MD
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for Group entities
  • Coordination of Group Entity budgets and reporting packs
  • Presentation of financial results to Exco and Board of Directors & Management team
  • Maintaining pricing of products at a level to ensure profitability
  • Estimating impact of price increases of raw materials and labour in order to assess increases required in the trade
  • Costing of products for SA as well as for group entities
  • Special projects – i.e. new software / new processes etc
  • Responsible for company Tax and VAT & correspondence with SARS
  • Bank Facility meetings / requirements & liaising with Company Bankers
  • Pay back calculations on capital items
  • Lease or buy calculations and considerations
  • Preparation of information required for Remco meetings
  • Review of monthly salary and wages payroll and release thereof
  • Cash management and treasury function
  • Overall responsibility for year-end stock take
  • Strategic financial decisions
  • Overall responsibility for Statistics SA submissions
  • Performance management of finance team

Skills Required

Requirements & Qualifications

  • CA (SA) essential, non-negotiable
  • CIMA qualification in additional to CA (SA) preferable
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a managerial position within finance department
  • Experience in reporting to a Board of Directors
  • Experience in a manufacturing entity pre-requisite
  • Experience in costing pre-requisite
  • Excellent Excel, Word & PowerPoint skills required
  • Experience required in Syspro / SAP / ERP system required
  • Experience with reviewing/ drafting and finalising legal contracts and legal issues
